BASIC DESCRIPTION

Infectious disease nurse practitioners work across all health care settings to prevent, manage, and treat infectious diseases. They can serve as educators, health policy makers and advocates, direct care providers, or researchers.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Registered nurse preparation, master’s degree, and certification in infection control are required.
