BASIC DESCRIPTION
A clinical research nurse works in clinical research centers and acts as a patient advocate in ensuring that ethical and efficient care is provided in compliance with federal and local research regulations. Their nursing knowledge provides them with the unique opportunity to meet the complex needs of patients participating in a research study.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Registered nurse preparation, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Basic Life Support certification are required; recent acute care experience is required in most positions.
