Job Description: The College of Behavioral and Health Sciences, School of Nursing invites applications for a full-time Lecturer faculty position (#105330 ). This is a one year, temporary position appointment with possible annual renewal for up to three years total. The positions begin August 1, 2019.

Positions will require online teaching of graduate nursing students. Successful applicant should have knowledge of an online course management system (i.e. D2L, WebCT, Blackboard, Course info, etc.) and evidence of effective teaching using an online course management system for instruction.

The position requires the online lecturer to regularly and predictably be available to online students both in class and office hours. The posted online office hours should be the same number of hours as required of FTTs teaching on-campus courses. The person hired must be a resident of Tennessee and will be required to meet occasionally with the chair of the department or MTSU administration as requested. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the faculty member. Prior to beginning the teaching of online courses, the faculty must receive the appropriate online training and/or certification to teach both MTSU and TNeCampus online classes.

Required Education: Master of Science with Family Nurse Practitioner Certification required

Required License/Registration/Certification: Registered Nursing License in Tennessee by appointment date,
Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification

Other Desirable: Candidates who possess prior experience teaching a college-level course fully online without any face-to-face instruction and experience in online course development will receive special consideration as will those with a Doctor of Nursing Practice.
