NYU Langone has once again been distinguished by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) with Magnet recognition for the fifth consecutive time, a rare and esteemed accolade. This recognition underscores the exceptional nursing care provided at NYU Langone’s Manhattan hospitals and key ambulatory sites in the city, setting it apart from its peers.

Among the facilities included in this Magnet designation are Tisch Hospital, Kimmel Pavilion, Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital, and various ambulatory care locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn, including the Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center, the 38th Street Ambulatory Care Center, the NYU Langone Orthopedic Center, and the Joseph S. & Diane H. Steinberg Ambulatory Care Center—Cobble Hill Emergency Department and perioperative services, among others. This recognition underscores NYU Langone’s commitment to delivering top-quality patient care and professional development.

Debra Albert, Chief Nursing Officer and Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services, commended the nurses for their dedication and hard work in providing exceptional and compassionate patient care. The exemplary work of NYU Langone’s nurses was acknowledged in various areas, such as advocacy for patient care resources, high rates of professional certifications and advanced degrees, and outstanding clinical quality outcomes.

In addition to recognizing nursing excellence, the Magnet appraisers praised NYU Langone’s recruitment and retention efforts, noting the success of the Nurse Residency Program in developing nurse leaders and the hospital’s low turnover and vacancy rates.

Maintaining Magnet status requires hospitals to consistently meet rigorous standards and demonstrate sustained superiority in nursing care. NYU Langone’s continued dedication to achieving this recognition reaffirms its commitment to delivering the highest level of nursing care and attracting top talent in the nursing field.
